- Rohit25/12/2022If you are looking for an isolated yet luxury stay, this is the place to be in. 1 hour ride from Pokhara into the hills overlooking the snow capped Annapurna mountains. Beautiful cottage with an indoor fire place and a private chef who will cook whatever you want him to cook. Please do take all the necessary groceries, cooking oil, spices etc with you as this cottage isolated with no shops nearby. Chef will also light up outside fire for you during the evenings, there is also a sound system which you can connect to your phone and enjoy music. The serenity and peace is ultimate here and I would highly recommend you stay here if you are a peace lover.read moreread less×Rohit25/12/2022If you are looking for an isolated yet luxury stay, this is the place to be in. 1 hour ride from Pokhara into the hills overlooking the snow capped Annapurna mountains. This place is a heaven situated far from the city. We contacted Mr.Purna Gurung who is the owner of this place and he arranged everything from airport transfers(kudos to the driving skills of Mr.Purna’s Dad), food, cook, etc. Special mention about his parents who took care of us very well. They visited us everyday to see if we were comfortable. We stayed with 2 kids and the place is very safe and the kids had a great time and were mostly outdoors playing in the garden area and sit out. The sit out and the windows of the house have a scenic view of the beautiful annapurna range. We went for short hikes around the mountains. This is a good place for birdwatchers. Overall we had a peaceful stay and we surely plan to visit this place again.read moreread less×Sathish25/09/2022We are so thankful for the wonderful experience we had at Mahakaruna. Probably the most extraordinary AirBnB place in the country. An absolut retreat away from all hustle and bustle with its own huge garden, all peacefully nestled between the hills and an oustanding view to Annapurna on clear days.
The family and everyone involved go out of their way to make you feel not only comfortable but also make you feel at home. Communication with everyone was excellent.
The house is quite big with three bedrooms upstairs and a huge open kitchen and living room. All neat and clean, everything very well organized and fully equipped.
Went on several hikes to explore the area a bit, enjoyed cooking myself, Yoga, reading and contemplating – just unplug.
Pure bliss, will never forget.
Thank you very much for the organisation and offering this place!

Spectacular get away.
A Shangri-La.
Read the page and instructions carefully. You have to communicate ahead of time with the host to ensure everything goes smoothly as they have a chef and other things that require pre-planning and don’t miss the description about them intentionally having no wifi. You can’t just expect to “show up” like other Airbnbs without speaking to the host ahead of time. I made that mistake and whilst things went smoothly it created unnecessary challenges for the host.
You won’t regret booking. This place has a class and aesthetic unlike the other Airbnbs in the country.read moreread less×Om30/12/2021Phenomenal place to stay.

Thank you Purna and Aneta – we can’t wait to return next year! - Rohan24/02/2019My wife and I stayed at Purna and Aneta’s AirBnB in Tanchok in February. It would suffice to say that our stay was absolutely bliss. Purna and Aneta were always extremely responsive both prior to our arrival and during. Everything was absolutely perfectly organized from the arrangements made by Purna and Aneta for our pickup at the airport in Pokhara by Suresh who periodically checked in to see how were doing during our stay , the warm welcome we received upon arrival at the property by our host’s father, the superb meals prepared by Dilip who also entertained us with his stories and humour, and the knowledge and humility of our Bijay who was our guide for walks in the area. The people we met during our stay truly made this a very enriching experience.
The house is one incredible feat of construction when one considers the craftsmanship that has gone into building it and the modern amenities that make one feel so comfortable but are so rare in Nepal when it comes to accommodations away from the city. It was fairly cold at that time of the year, but we were very cozy with the wood stove in the living room, the heater in the master bedroom and piping hot running water. With the construction of this spectacular luxury property, Purna and Aneta have achieved what most people in Nepal can only dream of doing.
On our very first morning we awoke to crystal clear views of Annapurna South from the master bedroom window. We often just sat outside and spent time chatting with Dilip and Bijay over a cup of tea while gazing over the beautiful valley below. We did a full day walk of the surrounding area including Garden in the Himalayas with a stopover for lunch at Australian Camp. We visited the local school on the second day and had a chat with the headmaster. On the third day we took a walk around Majgaon, the village next door, and visited with some of the local residents who are extremely welcoming. We also visited the local museum which has some very interesting artifacts. Our stay was just so perfect and relaxing that at times we felt like it was a fairy tale! We were very sad to leave, and we cannot wait to visit again for longer later this year. We highly recommend staying at Purna and Aneta’s property!read moreread less×Rohan24/02/2019My wife and I stayed at Purna and Aneta’s AirBnB in Tanchok in February.
